This architect-led tour will introduce you to energy-efficient home design using Passive House components. The name Passive House is derived from the German term “Passivhaus,” which describes a building with virtually no heating system (passive heating), versus a conventional building with a large heating system (active). Passive House is an “energy conservation first” approach. The basic idea is to radically minimize heat loss through effective heat retention, and maximize passive solar and internal heat gains. The cost is $10 per adult.
